We present a clinical case of Rapunzel syndrome in a 9-year-old female patient from an urban area. Her medical history included a 3-month history of diffuse abdominal pain, which occurred with fasting and was relieved by food intake. A physical examination revealed a hard mass in the epigastrium, and she was admitted. Studies confirmed the diagnosis of trichobezoar, secondary to a psychological disorder called trichophagia. She underwent surgery to remove this large bezoar, which occupied almost the entire gastric cavity. After a favorable outcome, psychotherapeutic and pharmacological intervention was initiated, followed by a multidisciplinary follow-up consultation with satisfactory results.
