Giant simple liver cyst

Hepatic cysts are rare entities that have multiple causes. Generally asymptomatic, they appear at any age, although a small part of them can cause pain and loss of appetite due to compression of the intestinal structures. A clinical case with a diagnosis of a giant simple liver cyst is presented. The patient presented with intense pain in the right upper quadrant, accompanied by a hard and painful mass in the same area. The presence of this tumor is verified on physical examination, a series of complementary tests are performed where the presence of a giant simple liver cyst (78x75 mm) is diagnosed. After carrying out cytological studies of its content and ruling out possible malignant processes, it was decided to discharge and consult with the general surgery service. Hepatic cysts are little diagnosed in the daily clinic, asymptomatic, only manifesting clinically when they exceed 5 centimeters.
