Esophageal-gastric junction outflow obstruction (EGJO) is a little-known esophageal motor disorder due to its recent identification with the advent of High Resolution Manometry (HRM), its lack of knowledge makes it frequently overlooked in the clinical area. We present the case of a 34-year-old male patient with a health history who approximately 5 years ago began to sporadically notice a sensation of choking on solid foods at the thoracic level, occasionally associated with early postprandial vomiting. This manifestation became more frequent a year and a half ago, going to the doctor in his province without obtaining a diagnosis or clinical improvement, which is why he was referred to the Institute of Gastroenterology where after performing routine tests in the study of dysphagia, the result was obtained by HRM of an esophageal-gastric junction outflow obstruction. This case can provide the clinician with new knowledge to not overlook this entity in patients with dysphagia where no organic cause is demonstrated.
