Corrección de la fístula arterioportal traumática de alto flujo mediante stent recubierto

Resumen

La fístula arterioportal es una entidad poco frecuente, asociada a diferentes causas entre las cuales destaca el traumatismo penetrante. Puede cursar al inicio de manera asintomática o manifestarse por un amplio espectro de signos y síntomas con limitación grave de la calidad de vida del paciente e, incluso, comprometerla. La actuación terapéutica inmediata, ya sea quirúrgica o endovascular, es vital para la solución definitiva de la causa primaria desencadenante. Se presenta el caso de un paciente masculino de 26 años de edad y antecedentes de salud con herida por arma blanca en el abdomen, el cual desarrolló como complicación una fístula arterioportal con hipertensión portal asociada. Se trató por vía endovascular y se colocó un stent recubierto a nivel de la comunicación anómala, con resolución clínica e imagenológica definitiva.
